Malawi suffers from high levels of food insecurity and malnutrition despite having rich resources, including nutritious indigenous foods, and a twelve-month growing season.
MAWA will help to reduce food insecurity and poverty using sustainable resources, to develop peoples capabilities in organizing income generating activities that take care of their own environment, to support current and growing needs of local communities and to promote household food security and health.
We believe that poverty reduction can’t be opposed to a sustainable use of the natural resources on which communities depend.
